Well, looks like I'm taking control over this.

More like I was drafted.

Drafted is the word.

I like drafted.

So, I might as well just reiterate the rules.

We don't like yaoi.  The genre mostly, but issues on the actual fandom, which are run mainly by heterosexual teenager girls who wish to create exploitation fics and drawings depicting male characters from various pop culture themes who's sexual preferences have never been really discussed within said pop culture.  Mostly because whether or not these characters in some sort of relationship isn't really the matter or point of the movie, comic, anime, whatever they're in.  Basically adding such relationships kind distracts from the actual content.  Especially if said exploitation was made about characters from children's programs that go beyond the actual demographic age group mentality.  Basically if it's for kids, then it needs to stay for kids.  We don't wanna know whether or not Mickey Mouse has the hots for Goofy.  It's just a bit disturbing to think about.

Also, we are against creating non-canon pairings, yaoi pairings, mostly of character who are in the show already in a relationship with a significant other.

Are we a homosexual hate group. No we are not.  We respect homosexuality in real people.  And I know of a few homosexuals...men actually...who really do not like yaoi at all.  Mostly because of how it exploits them and while it tries to paint a positive view point...I guess...it really comes off as negative to many gay men.  As in, real homosexuals do not do what these girls fantasize over.  And since most yaoi is written by girls who are their mid teens, most of these girls do not understand what being gay really is all about.  They don't know on a personal level the hardships homosexuals face, the bigotry, the hate, the pressure that society places upon homesexuals because society sees what they do as a deviation of what is considered normal.

Yaoi, mostly Western made yaoi done by Western fangirls, is not what homosexuality is.  It's an exploitation genre to do one thing, entertain a specific group of people and fetishize it for their own personal amusement.  It does not promote equality for homosexuals, it does not address the struggles real homosexuals have to live with.  It's just shameless smut, like any shameless smut.

And most of the time, it doesn't even use actual homosexual characters, actual gay men.  And I will say this, mostly this is society's fault for not giving more homosexuals a starring role, or make them lead characters.  Most yaoi stories revolve around some main character, and that main character is generally heterosexual or does not mention due to it not mattering in the plot, that he is gay or straight.  And when Hollywood tries to do its thing on making homosexual characters at least there, homosexuality becomes more of a character trait rather than just a preference on the character.  Sorta like the trope Men Act, Women Are.  It's Straights Act, Gays Are.  And that is a big shame.  The unfortunate double standard of our society.

And yes, I do agree, there needs to be more characters who are homosexual (regardless to their gender) play major parts in movies and TV, and any other form of entertainment media.  Paint a positive view for homosexuality in media that doesn't focus on their preference as some character trait.  One thing I can name off is the characters in Dragon Age.  You actually do get a choice of whether or not the character is gonna go for the opposite sex or the same sex and it not distract from the game play and story, but adds a deeper layer to the story.

This group is designed as a place for people who do not like the exploitive genre of Yaoi, regardless to whether or not we members are straight, gay, bisexual, or transexual.  This group is open to everyone who agree with our point of views and wish to have a safe place free from ridiculing fangirls who will die for their ship.

I'm mostly gonna act as buffer for those who wish to act uncivilized because they feel threatened by our opinions.  Anything I see posted here that seem hateful and disrespectful to us, I'm gonna flag it.

We all do have different opinions.  Some of you who see this may not agree with our opinion, and that's fine.  We're not here to convert you to our side.  But don't try to convert you over to yours either.

I also wish for this group to celebrate art that is not yaoi in content.  Showing perhaps two characters, regardless to their gender, as good friends and family, rather than in love.  You can show deep relationships between people without ever having it being romantic.  I'd love to see more art about that.

So, if anyone has any suggestions for where we need to take this place...feel free to contact me.  I'm Ghostwalker2061
